The management is working through the fence-installment agenda and we recenly had to make a decision about the type of fence we would like installed. It was between the following two types of fences, both of which ran at the exact same price: [the price was inclusive of the gates as well]

We selected the former fence as the one that will surround the Nishan Sahib and the latter fence will surround the Gurughar complex. The electronic gates as below:

As opposed to usual electronic rolling gates, our gates will have the rollers mounted on the top two rails of the fence. Meaning the gate will actually be suspended a short distance above the ground, making the gate seem to "fly" open.

This past week hosted the festival of Lorhi, a Punjabi tradition in which a recently born child is celebrated by the family.

Last night (Sunday) Surinder Singh Khalsa, Malkiat Singh, Joginder Singh (Committee Member) & Families celbrated the birth of their daughter Jasleen Kaur at Sikh Temple Reno (Mountain Top). They together took up an Akhand Paath (January -18 2009) and played host to all of Reno's Saad Sangat.

However, this event was a 2 in 1 event. Along with the birth of Jasleen Kaur, Surinder Singh Khalsa was re-united with his family from India. Later that day, they had a private gathering at their place.

Wonderful news everyone! The Nishan Sahib is finally getting off the ground (pun intended). Just about a week ago we received the baseplate for it and we expect the rest of the parts in the near future.

Not long from now we will have a 70' Nishan Sahib. Compared the last 24' Nishan Sahib, this one is 46' feet taller and will be more visible form both Freeways I-80 & 395 as well as North McCarren Blvd and many other parts of the city.

Many many thanks to Sardar Col. Joginder Singh Gondal and family for supplying the full funds for the Nishan Sahib and they will have the honor of fitting our's with a very nice Chola Sahib. All we want to say to the Gondal Family right now is thanks, and may Waheguru make you prosperous in every field of life!

Total new concept of moving Gurughar site was recently introduced to the RGPC this past  week. The committee was overwhelmed by the reponse of  the Sangat's approval. While the RGPC has aggressively taken steps toward the first proposal, it has become an issue to find a peaceful resolution retreating from the first proposition.

We congratulate the Saad Sangat that the committee is firmly united on the present issue. We are looking forward to share a very prudant outcome in coming weeks.

RGPC called a General body meeting to conclude the long standing decision spotting the place for the future Gurughar. It is matter of great joy to share that SMUCHI SAAD SANGAT unanimously agreed to acquire and exchange the present Gurudwara properties with Bhai Randhir Singh Virk's 4.86 acre land to build  New Gurughar. The terms are settled and soon will be executed professionally. RGPC is pleased to see the Sangat's concern and their excitement. It is a matter of great pride and RGPC feel honored to congratulate the whole Reno Gurughar family for their unity and their strength. May Baba Nanak bless us to grow and celebrate today and forever-more.
